The Cornish pre-Christmas Road Trip

Festive road trip travels have taken us south, after a trip to Bury! While Clare was doing some training at a nearby company, I was working away in the mobile cafe office!

Later that night, we arrived at Fort Martin where Christmas dinner awaited along with a quick session on the Lathe the following morning, to calve up some last minute Christmas pressies.

Tuesday saw us onto Somerset, where more fine foods and good company awaited. Wednesday involved an early start to continue south to Cornwall, where another three course Christmas Dinner and festive cheer were the order of the day!

Down on Seaton Beach, Wally and I walked off dinner and skimmed a few stones, while catching up on the last six months.

It was a treacherous journey, but we survived intact...

Next stop was Roche, where Rich was waiting for us. More food and excellent chat as always. It was late when I left to return to Somerset, but was thwarted at the Tamar Bridge, which was closed! A long detour north gave way to a superb chance encounter. Just past my old haunts of Duchy College, I spotted a friends van in a pub car park, so pulled over to find two of my great friends inside! What a bonus - and a surprise! I would have loved to have stayed longer, but it was late and fatigue was setting in! Made it back before midnight...
