125 Days of Cottage Life

After a staggering 125 days of being confined to The Cottage and surrounding area, today the Welsh Government lifted the local travel ban. Apart from a 24-hour dash to London to attend Robin's funeral last month, we've stayed local and traveled almost exclusively by bike or on foot. It's by far and away the longest time period that I have ever stayed in one place since I was at school!
To celebrate the new freedoms, we crossed the Britannia Bridge, onto Anglesey, by car and had a wonderful morning of surfing, with just four of us to share the wave. It's still not too busy here. Aled's mighty Swell board was the perfect choice for the wave - thank's for the loan!

It's also the first July since about 2002 that I've not been setting off on some sort of expedition or journey to far-flung lands. It might be a different year for travel, but there's still plenty of adventures to be had. An evening of scheming and planning for the months ahead has started to produce some good results already...
