It was raining hard in Wales and northern England today. Luckily for us, we had the chance to escape the weather for the weekend.
Less than four hours after dashing to the car in the pouring rain at The Cottage, we were walking across the runway tarmac in Jersey in the sunshine. Summer is still in full effect here! We’re travelling light and eeking out the last of summer on a pre-birthday mini-break to the Channel Islands. Incredible.
Having had a summer on the move, staying with family and friends, wild camping, sofa surfing and overnighting, we upgraded to the luxurious delights of the Savoy Hotel!
“Complimentary drinks on the terrace after checking in Sir?”. Don’t mind if we do!
Relaxation was the name of the game today, so after arriving mid-afternoon, we stayed put around the hotel, and for light exercise, moved between the room, reading lounge, terrace and then down to the dining room.
We took dinner in the Jazz bar, with live band entertainment. Very cool. This morning at The Cottage seems a world away!
