Another non-stop three days, that began by exploring down a deep river gorge in south Snowdonia. I've been meaning to go for years, but finally, timings and team coincided. Armed with some scant knowledge, a wetsuit, helmet, harness, and some rope, we descended by abseil down the biggest waterfalls, while jumping the smaller ones. It was a great adventure into the unknown and well worth the trip. It's great when a recognisance for work can be such fun! Still, the water was very cold on the fingers. By Tuesday I was hiking in Llangollen with another team of younger students.
We made it up to the Dians Bran Castle remains on a cold and drizzly afternoon.
The views were limited, but the team didn't care as they were having great fun playing games around the ruins.
By Wednesday we'd progressed onto the Llangollen Canal, for a day trip up to past Chirk Marina.
Again, the weather was a bit damp, but we all had a great time, taking turns steering and pin-balling off the sides.
We crossed the aquaduct...
And went through the tunnels...
It was late by the time I got back to The Cottage, but the word on the street was that there was some good surf at the beach. I quickly repacked the van and sped off. Although I was incredibly tired, some sunset surfing was a great refreshed for the brain and soul. I got out just before dark feeling great.
