River Snorkelling

I can't remember such a great spell of weather up here in North Wales. At 7:00pm it was still plenty warm enough to be heading off to the river to cool down. The initial shock of diving in felt much colder than earlier in the week, but once in, I swam for nearly ten minutes before getting out. Unheard of!

Being able to stay in a bit longer was great, as this time I'd taken down a snorkel and mask to do some underwater investigating.

One of the big pools was twice as deep as me and I could only just dive down the bottom. The was was very clear and I even saw a shoal of fish!

When I eventually got out, I was shivering a bit, but otherwise felt totally invigorated!

On the warm rocks by the river bank, we dried out and warmed up quickly in the bright evening sun.
