With a shaky forecast remaining for the foreseeable future, we said our farewells to the Otztal Valley, and headed north, through Litchenstien and across another border into Switzerland.
Just outside Zurich, as promised, the weather picked up and we ended the long drive with a refreshing swim in Greigensee.
From there, we continued over to Zurich, where we met fellow mountain man, Tim who gave me the low down on all the latest outdoor gear!
Had a fine afternoon/evening with Tim and his family, finishing with some excellent kitchen skills to match the quality of the liquid refreshments.
It was all a bit damp the next day, to the anticipated swim/float down the river through the city centre was out on hold in favour of breakfast, coffees and sightseeing.
With our local guide at hand, we strolled the streets and soaked up the views - old, new and green spaces too.
Naturally, the tour featured some chocolate shops…
And expensive watches!
We returned to Tim’s house after a drive by the Opera House, then got ourselves ready to get back on the road…
Soon we were in Germany, then entered France under some stormy skies! Seven hours and 700km later and we’ve pulled for some much needed sleep after getting a some dinner cooked on the road between the showers!
Thanks Tim for the Swiss hospitality!
