Rain Not Expected...

Apart from some strong winds, the same glorious weather was forecast, with "rain not expected" was given as the headline for the mountains. As a treat, we went straight out to Betws for breakfast, with the plan of climbing in the Moelwyns afterwards. We left the blue sky of home and drove through the valley, where we were very surprised to find it raining hard!

The light and clouds were beautiful, but not looking very 'dry'!

By Betws, we were through the worst, and at least had a good rainbow show!

Inside the cafe, we had a great breakfast, while other bemused bikers and walkers piled in, soaking wet from the un-forecast weather. A good excuse for shopping for a few new bits of kit though!

Optimistically, we drove through the Llanberis Pass in the hope of finding some dry slates. We brewed up in the back of the van while the wind blew the rock dry and the sun re-emerged.

Then it was back to dry rock and blue skies! But this time with a strong wind blowing, so not quite as summery...
