Climbing at Castle Inn Quarry

The threat of rain was in the air all day, but never really materialised. We'd been staying in Llandudno, so instead of retuning to the mountains (which had very ominous dark clouds above them), we went climbing near Colwyn Bay. We worked our way along the cliff, climbing nine routes, before decided to head home, after a few short showers of hail stones.

Also found an egg...

The Cottage garden was bathed in sheltered sun, so we had a brew and a nap, before continuing over to friends in Llanberis. It stayed dry and sunny there too, but when Matt joined us, he said there was torrential rain in Capel Curig! We'd managed to dodge the showers!

Castle Inn Quarry Climbs:
- Smartie, 5
- Appenzeller, 5
- (3 new routes at grade 5 to the left of the two above - not in guidebook)
- Cariad, 5
- Nain, 4
- Ffrind, 4
- Taid, 5
