While everyone else in North Wales flocked to the snow-covered mountains, we made a quick ascent of the rocky ridge above the A55.
It's a brilliant little climb and perfect for a cold afternoon when it's good to keep moving.
With my students tied on, we climbed it in about six little pitches before moving together across the easier section. My leather Rab scrambling gloves are perfect for this sort of thing and it felt really secure to have them on in the cold temperatures.
Instead of going up to the summit of the mountain, we bailed off the side, using a well placed Oak tree to lower down from quickly and easily.
We'd made good time and sorted the kit out while having a bit to eat.
Later that evening, we went briefly to the climbing wall, as has become a recent routine on Sunday evenings. However, new restrictions mean that the doors and fire escapes are all open. Given that it was frosty outside, it was bitterly cold inside too!
Our hand simply couldn't stay warm enough to climb! Unwanting to pull a muscle or damaged ourselves, we did some easier routes before deciding to call it a day and return to the warmth of The Cottage!
