Kayaking on the Upper Glaslyn

I did have plans to check the surf today, but given that we've had about 30mm of rain every night for the last three days, it seemed a shame to turn down the offer of a kayaking trip

On consultation of my guidebook, I found that it has been a number of years since I last kayaked this stretch of water. It's super mellow, with plenty of nice little waves and eddies to break in and out of.

Having started at the lake, we did the 5km run, through the little village of Beddgelert and got out just before things get a lot more serious at the start of the gorge section.

All in all, it was a great little run and just the right level. Good times.

Later in the afternoon, I met with Clare for a walk through the woods at Capel Curig as for once, the weather was better there than anywhere else!

And then finished the day by the Menai Straits... Good times
