Crook of Dee

Damp and drizzly in the Chester area meant that we decided to stay off the bikes today. We had a quick look around the shops, but it felt super busy compared to anywhere we’ve been in the past six months or so, so we got out of town as soon as we could.

A scan of the OS Map, soon gave us a few options for solitude and we settled on exploring the nearby River Dee, (as the nearby counties of Wales were out of bounds due to a local lockdown).

The river was flat and fast moving, with a good path along its banks. I’m pretty sure I’ve paddled a canoe around there, but my memory was a bit hazy abs lacking details. In the underground there were some over grown relics.

It certainly feels like autumn has arrived. The colours in the trees are looking great, even on a damp day.
