Bochlwyd Eliminate, HVS (5a)***

Given the tropical conditions across North Wales, it felt a bit weird getting ice axes and crampons packed in preparation for next weeks expedition away.

After an exhausting, but productive day working 'behind the scenes' sorting the logistics and paperwork of various forthcoming expeditions, there was still just enough time to enjoy the three-star classic climb on Bochlwyd Buttress above the Ogwen Valley.

It took a bit of working out to suss the opening sequence of handholds, but when I eventually located the hidden hold, I was off. It's one of my favorite climbs in the valley, especially in the evening, when it's bathed in sunlight. T-Shirt conditions again this evening. Unbelievable. Walked back down to Ogwen Cottage as the sun was setting.

We had had the whole cliff to ourselves. Things had clearly been busier earlier on in the day at Ogwen Cottage Visitor Centre!...
