Even with these extended sunny days, the sunsets are getting earlier and earlier. We went out to climb a new route in the 'Never Never Land' area of the quarry that we'd been told about this evening. Just to air on the side of caution, we packed headtorches in our rucsacks just in case the darkness got to us before we got back to the van!
But that was all after a fantastic day of Canoeing on Llyn Padarn. There was a weird haze in the air, and parts of the coast were banked out in sea mist, but down at the lake below Snowdon, all was calm.
Almost as good as the canoeing, was the lunchtime cook up, with flame grilled cheese toasties being the speciality course!
We made it to the cliffs, just as the sun was exploding onto the horizon, making for some 'unphotographable' colours and views!
We were up and down the route fairly fast, but both enjoyed the movements. The route follows slopey ledges with positive holds. Seven bolts lead to the belay rings.
We opted not to do a second route by torchlight and instead enjoyed the colours on the horizon on the walk home...
