Autumnal Canoe Observations

Part of my work involves mentoring students working in the Outdoor Education industry and these days, also completing staff appraisals. The appraisal system is designed to make sure that staff are current in qualifications, up to date with best practice, generally doing a good job and given a focus for gaining a specific target or qualification. Today was my first round of 'lesson observations' and thankfully, the first day of nice weather that we've had in a while. Or least it feels like it.

When I say good weather, we set off in the sunshine on our canoe trip, but the showers still passed through. At least they were good enough to give us a rainbow as they passed us by.

The autumnal colours look amazing at the moment (not shown very well in the photo though!). We stopped at Gilfach Ddu for a quick brew on the kelly kettle, before letting the wind blow us back in the right direction. Made it back to base before the evening storms arrived!
