The Beacon - Upper Tier

Great day of indoor climbing with my new student expedition group. Setting the foundations for the skills that they'll need for the week long climbing expedition they are planning for this spring/summer. It's the first student expedition that's more than a day or two long that I've got planned since Arctic Husky Sledding in Sweden nearly two years ago, so it was super exciting to be getting something in the diary again.

The Beacon Climbing Wall has just opened a new instructional area (The Upper Tier) which is superb. It's not totally completed, but when it is, it will be a dream resource for climbing instructors. As well as being a quiet area, away from the noise and music of the main rooms, it also has lots of features such as ledges to simulate belays from, top ropes and auto-belays. It's a real addition to what was already a good wall.
