On Skis above Chatel

Three day on skis have started to take their toll, evidenced by the fact that we went back to bed after breakfast for some extra sleep! It's been another glorious day of exploring the pistes above the village of Chatel.

The views over at this part of the resort are even better and gave us great views of our old skyline from our days in Villars.

In this photo, Clare is pointing out the village where we used to live! It was fun trying to remember all the peaks that we had climbed during our time there.

Far out to the west, we could see the steep side of the Eiger north wall and to the south east, the summit of Mt Blanc was clearly visible (below and right of the strange shaped clouds that appeared above the Dents du Midi after lunch.

A wrong turn from one of the summits almost had us lost in Switzerland for the evening, but we managed to get back on track and made it back to the hotel in time for evening drinks on the outdoor 'panoramic' terrace.

Ski Stats:
53km distance travelled.
6500m descent by ski
