It was warm and dry enough to run a few errands by bike this morning! A nice way to start the day off.
Once a few little bit of admin were sorted, we left the mountains and drove over to the beach, where the weather was looking to be a few degrees warmer.
We swam a couple of laps of the bay, then dried off in the sunshine with a hearty picnic. We had the beach to ourselves, bar a few passing dog walkers and were sheltered from the slight breeze. It all felt very holidayesque.
After some digestion, we followed the coast line and walked our way over to Rhosneigr village, for some restorative ice creams, before hiking back to the car.
We were reluctant to to leave as it was so nice. Anyway, just as we've set off to drive back to The Cottage, we got a text from Bex saying we should meet her at the lake for a swim. We decided that a wet towel and shorts, should not put us off and we were really glad too. Conditions at the lake were sublime.
The water was much colder than the sea (around 11 degrees in the lake). I was tentatlvly poking a toe in the water when I slipped, lost my balance and had to commit to a dive! It was a shock, but probably better than my usual procrastination - especially as the sun had gone behind the hills leaving the temperature around 10 or 11 degrees.
Bex had come prepared with a hot water bottle for afterwards, which was a real saviour! After a good natter and some view appreciation, we returned to The Cottage at dark and got the fire going.
