Sunday Slate and Swim

First time back climbing in the Slate Quarry for quite a while and the tiny edges felt like they'd got even smaller! We just popped in quickly after a pancake start at The Cottage and believe it or not, it was almost too hot to climb!

We made the second ascent of this route and have since climbed it many times over. It's certainly seen a lot of ascents this summer as every conceivable handhold was coated in chalk and the key hand and foot holds are becoming very polished - it won't be long until it becomes a grade harder because of this I suspect.

There were lots of climbers about in the quarry, but non where we were, so had a pick of the sector.

We'd left our bags at the top, so instead of returning for another route, had a very nice lunch looking out over Snowdon.

Then went down the hill for a very refreshing swim. The water felt the warmest I've ever known it. (helped by the 30 degree temperature no doubt!).
