A solid roof over our heads, cupboards of food and utensils are just some of the luxuries of being back at home. We've been taking making the most of it. Spending the summer with minimal space, facilities, clothes and food really makes you appreciate the simple things in life and The Cottage now feels like the lap of luxury compared with living out of the back of the van.
After a day of rest and mowing the meadows that have cropped up in the gardens during our absence, we though we ought to venture out beyond the grounds.
The weather has taken a dip for the cooler as northerly air has pushed over the country, but we figured that the lake might still be warm-ish?
There was a decent amount of procrastination due to the autumnal feel, but we both knew that we'd feel better after a quick dip. Eventually, Clare led the charge and we came out buzzing with both the cold and endorphins.
A walk along the lakeshore got the warmth flowing again. On the drive home we stopped to admire some shafts of sunlight that were beaming through the clouds onto the sea. Magic.
