It was a real holiday tour vibe to be able to wake up, grab a shower and make a short ride along the River Dee to find ourselves a fine morning coffee and splendid leisurely breakfast. What a treat. The weather was great, so instead of more cycling, we returned to the van and headed back west and towards the north coast of Wales.
Parking up at the far end of the beach, away from the hussle of Llandudno town, it only took 15 minutes to pump up the paddleboards, get changed and get onto the sea.
We were soon working our way along the cliffs and the busy beach was left behind us.
Plenty of bird spotting to be had, but no seals today. The rock climbing here, is described as steep and adventurous. It looked outrageous!
Before too long, we rounded a headland and found ourselves at Angel Bay. We went up close to the cliffs, to explore in some caves, but the wind was starting to increase, so we decided to not linger and began our journey back.
But not before cooling off a bit!
We made it back to the beach, just as the wind started to make paddling difficult, so it was a well-timed journey. Deflated, the boards easily fitted back in the van and we were home in time to enjoy the sun at The Cottage, while we sorted out all the kit that the last few days had necessitated. It had been a superb 'mini-break' and our first nights away since the lockdown began...
