Woodland Wanderings

It might have been quite a dull and overcast Welsh day, but there were colours all around if you looked close enough. I've been helping out on some woodland studies with a group of students. Around the Crafnant Valley, as well as plenty of woodlands, there are loads of old abandoned mine, with minerals and lichens covering and staining the old relics.

Deep in the forest, hidden under the dense canopy, we almost needed head torches.

Old larch cones were hanging one to branches.

And the deep reindeer moss carpeted some areas.

Hiked over to Gerionydd in the afternoon.
