Up above Ardales, Andalusia

Thankfully the rain in Spain, did go mainly down the drain, but boy was there a lot of it! We woke in the night to hear it hammering down outside and pouring off the roof tops as there seems the invention of guttering has been slow to catch on here. It continued through most of the morning, but we had plenty to do and a nice little apartment to do it it. Later in the afternoon, there was a brief respite, so we set off from the house on foot.

There is a small chapel on the hilltop above the village, so we hiked up to take a look along with the wider vista.

In the distance, we could see the famous climbing area of El Chorro - a place that holds a lot of good memories for me as it was the scene of my first overseas sport climbing trip, back in 1998(ish). Closer to hand, we saw a little beetle/scorpion thing on the road...

The houses are tightly packed in around the village. I thought you'd enjoy seeing some of the high spec build quality Dudley)..

We made it back to the pad after a good leg stretch and just as the next wave of rain arrived. After a delicious dinner, we explored the remainder of the village streets after dark.
