The return journey

Grey skies and the threat of drizzle almost put me off making the return journey to Llandudno by bike. We'd agreed to meet at 07:30 and as the road was just about dry, I decided to go for it. With the wind behind us, we were in Conwy before we knew it.

In fact, we were going so well, that we decided to take the more direct route (but including an extra hill) and cross the Sychant Pass, which was deserted, early on a Sunday morning. Dropping down the far side, I hit a new top speed of 60.1km!

We rolled into Conwy feeling energised for the day ahead.

We even went around the coast by Deganwy for good measure. No sooner had we arrived at the Outdoor Education cabin, did the heavens open and the rain poured down. Felt very lucky indeed, We would have been soaked to the bone!

The weather put a stop to any outdoor climbing plans, so we enjoyed a good day in the climbing wall instead.

Any notion of cycling home was soon put away and I was grateful for the ride home in John's van!

Popped in at Dave's before dinner for a quick cup of tea, but was presented with a belated birthday gin and tonic instead! Great finish to a great day!
