The threat of incoming heavy rain from the west, prompted a rapid start to the day for my group! Despite all the odds, we climbed a couple of good pitches before it arrived. We picked the crag of Penameanbach as it was sheltered from the wind and even though there were some raindrops in the air, it was still climbable. We packed up after lunch as the rock had become wet and slippery and we were beginning to get damp.
A beautiful rainbow signaled the arrival of the first showers, so we decamped to the climbing wall. On arrival back at the minibus, the drizzle turned torrential and we gladly spent an energetic afternoon inside. It felt good to have 'snuck' in some outside climbing though...
