Cottage Time

Can't believe that nearly a week has passed since we were last on the bikes. It feels like we were there only a day or two ago, but other the other hand, so much has happened since then. It took a few days for the deep ache in my thighs to wear off and I was initially careful to only be sitting on comfy, padded chairs wherever I went!

We've mostly stayed put at The Cottage and surrounding area over the last week. As usual, after an expedition and after so much travel and moving around, it's been really nice to stay in one place and enjoy some Cottage comforts. On the whole, the weather has been pleasant and to be honest, the one day when it rained hard, we had plenty of sorting and organising to do indoors anyway.

We did venture out up the valley this afternoon. The weather is due to deteriorate tomorrow, so I was keen to make use of some of the sunshine. Neither of us had quite recovered enough for a big day in the mountains or go climbing, but we did want to see the views and stretch our legs. A walk to the swimming hole was just about the right level of activity that we required. I procrastinated a bit about getting in, but had a quick splash about in the end and felt much better for it.

Nice to be a home in a holiday destination!
