Good job I didn't go with the Ferrari, as even the van soon filled up with gear for our lastest expedition.
All excited about the coming adventures, I frantically left The Cottage cleaned and tidied ready for its new summer tenants and set off straight into a traffic jam. An hour later, I was still only 15 miles from home! Not a great start!
Eventually (over five hours later!) I pulled into the driveway at Fort Martin, where I was handed a much needed cold drink and presented with a splendid full roast dinner. The moon was coming out and all was beautifully still as we strolled the grounds at dusk. It had been worth the drive.
The next day (Monday) was a flurry of activity, but in between helping out with a few jobs at The Fort, we made time for plenty of eating and drinking in the sunny terrace. Before meeting Michelle for a natter and a couple more drinks!
Tuesday started off with a bit more garden appreciation, followed by more time on the terrace after a bit of a log gym session and a rummage in the den, with Dudley. There are some impressive flowers out at the moment.
All too soon, it was time to wave goodbye to these two crazy cats and get back on the road.
By evening I'd made it to Dockenfield and enjoyed another late night after a walk through the fields with Jo-Jo.
