I do like Mondays. We've spent today at one of the most popular cliffs in North Wales - sheltered from the wind and baked in sunshine - and we were the only people there. Ticking through a handful of the classic climbs, it was about as good as climbing gets! To start us off we climbed 'Christmas Curry' in two pitches. It was the first route I ever climbed here; I've lost count of the amount of times I've climbed it since, but it's always great.
It was full summer conditions at the Crag.
Next up was 'One Step' which was equally as lovely, before stopping by for a nice picnic back at the base of the cliffs.
The main event was the top pitch of 'Merlin Direct' which has some brilliant climbing and plenty of protection too. By then, the rock was radiating heat.
A final dash up 'Yogi' completed the day for us before heading back to The Cottage in time for a cheeky beer in the garden. All in all, a very relaxing day of quality routes while feeling the warmth of the sun.
