No wind, blue skies, calm water and one of the finest panoramas in Snowdonia. All the right conditions to go canoeing with Ma and Pa!
With the sun low in the sky, we pushed off from the banks and spent an idyllic ninety minutes floating about the lake at Llanberis.
Over the course of many years, this daring trio of paddlers have ticked off a few classic boat trips. Having previous negotiated the River Wye and the Menai Straits, this was the teams third Canoe Expedition and their paddling skills were clear to see from the outset.
With confidence riding high, the elder members of the crew set off on their own for a section...
Thankfully they came back for me and we made the crossing back to the village where we met Clare (who'd shot past us in a rowing boat earlier), for a late dinner at the aptly named 'Padarn Lake Hotel'. As well as providing good food and drink, they also allowed one member of the team to 'dry-off' in the convenient and spacious bathrooms!
Late night brews back at The Cottage rounded off another great day.
