I've been out with a small team of small people today on a little gorge walk in the picturesque valley that climbs up into Llyn Geirionydd, past the old mine workings. We had a great day out and didn't see a single other person on our travels - despite being quite close to a road, we felt like explorers.
Lots of rock hopping, scrambling, geography, history, geology and wet feet from the word go. All good fun. At the entrance to one mine shaft, some iron coloured water was joining the flow in a rather artistic way.
As always on this walk, the climax comes where the water goes underground! And we follow it in!
And as if that wasn't cold enough, some the students went in to claim their own island in the lake at the end! All good fun and mostly in the sun... A nice days work.
