A brilliant day with my regular student climbing group today. For whatever reason, the psych was at an all-time high for a real 'workout', so we went down to the Beacon Climbing Centre, where amazingly, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. After a warm up which turned into more of a circuit training session, we all got involved with a solid morning of bouldering. Everyone was encouraging each other as we all tried the problems together. One 'ungraded' route had a tag on promising a free drink to the first ascensionist! We tried and tried, but the prize eluded us! In the afternoon, we hit the main wall and got pumped crazy trying a long 'tufa' feature.
Eventually, by mid-afternoon, even I could climb no more, so we retreated to the famous 'Pete's Eats' in Llanberis, for a pint of tea and a team game of chess. My hands were so sore I could barely hold the hot cup and soon my brain was worn out trying to keep up with the rapid chess moves!
