Kayaking on National Poetry Day

Today has been National Poetry Day, so during my day's kayaking, we've been stopping off, during our journey, for a few topical recitals.

We started with some video footage of the Welsh Poet Lauteate for Children - Martin Daws (who happens to be a great performer, as well as our nearest neighbour here at The Cottage!). Afterwards we wrote a quick poem ourselves as a team, then headed out to the lake, where we set off accompanied by some wise words from Dr Suess' 'Oh The Places You'll Go'.

At lunch we took some environmental wisdom from Sir Walter J Wallis' anthologhy called Petty Cash before getting to the far end of Llyn Padarn.

In the evening, I met up with Tim and made the most of the late sunlight, with a walk and chat along the pier at Bangor. Nice finish to a creative day with a great team of youngsters.
