Employed a real range of climbing experiences and instruction today - both inside and out! Started off with a morning of route setting in the bouldering wall with a very eager team of lads. We were up and down ladders and moving holds at great speeds, trying to create the perfect boulder problems. Ones that make you really have to think to work things out and feel good when your body moves up the wall.
After lunch, we took ourselves up to Castle Inn Quarry for some bolted climbing. It was almost a very short lived session when it turned out that 'someone' had left behind the bag with the ropes and rock boots in! Between the team, we managed to cobble together enough gear to get some routes done (even if some had to share sweaty boots! Ugh!).
There was a thin layer of cloud, but even without the sun, it was mild for October and there was not a breath of wind, which made it feel very peaceful.
Back at The Cottage, lots of new and exciting things had arrived. New editions of magazines and a chunky new climbing guide to Croatia. Got established with a coffee and some toast by a roaring fire and started flicking through them all as plans and ideas of future trips whizzed around my brain...
