Climbing at Carreg Alltrum

A beautiful day again in North Wales today! We chose to go climbing at a small crag that we'd not been to in years, called Carreg Alltrum. It's hidden down a little wooded valley and has amazing views of the south side of Moel Siabod and the Carneddau in the distance.

It's also a pleasant little walk in and you're unlikely to see many other people about.

Nice view
We did two great climbs, and luckily found an abseil point at the top of the cliff, which meant that we didn't have to negotiate the heathery walk down.

Full stretch on 'Laverado' pitch 1 VS (4c)

We got back to the base of our last route, just as the sun left the crag. We'd be chatting and taking our time and hadn't really been paying attention to what time it was. We were quickly back at the van and as it was such a nice evening, opted for some alfresco dining on the way home in Betws!

Home time!...
