Sella Pass Sport Climbing

It's been a real scorcher today; perfect conditions for a chilled morning around our home village. Starting with a 'meeting' at our local coffee shop in the village square.


Followed by some more chat and a bit of lunch in the garden!


It was actually quite late in the afternoon by the time we decided to nip out and do a few routes up at the pass. It was ten degrees cooler up at the Sella Pass, which made it a perfect climbing temperature of twenty degrees. To be honest, we both felt a little zombied, so chose some short routes with a quick walk in and some easier grades.


The routes at Città dei Sassi are all basically on giant boulders, which is nice as you sort of get to top out and enjoy the views. 




After a few steeper routes, pumped arms and a general feeling of fatigue sent us back down to our favourite rocking chair at the refugio where we had a drink and soaked up the evening views.
On the way back down the pass, the sunlight was catching the west face of Colac, (centre of the photo) which we had climbed earlier in the week:
