Just had a great evening scoot up Ordinary Route (Diff), on Idwal Slabs. Sheltered from the cold easterly wind, the rock was warm to touch in the late afternoon sun.
We started climbing at 6pm, just as the shadows started creeping up the cliff. We moved fast and stayed in the warmth of the evening sunlight. Despite being the eve of the May bank holiday weekend, there was no one about and we sat chatting at the top of the route until the shadows got close.
Descending in the shade was cold, but no surprise, considering there is still snow just above in Cwm Ceniefion. Got back in at The Cottage just after 8pm for dinner. What a great little mission.
Earlier on today, I had been leading a group on a gorge walk near Llyn Geirionydd and came across this old metal fence post. After much discussion, I still can't decide which came first? The tree or the fence post?!..
