Such a day! Our last full one in California. With so many sights, sounds and spectacles to soak up. To make sure that stamina levels were up to the task, we took good care to leave the hotel fuelled up with another all American breakfast.
Venice Beach Boardwalk was the first point of call. And what better way to experience it than crusing around on bicycles. (ok, apart from on rollerblades).
It was such a hoot! Watching the world float by - sea, surf on one side, shops and craziness on the other; we grinned our was along the famous trail. And so smooth and flat, that it seemed to required no effort to move.
Half way alongcame across the beach skatepark, so stopped a while to watch the dudes dropping in.
Later, we stopped by 'Muscle Beach' for bit of flexing and both managed to show off our gymnastic prowess by each doing at least two consecutive pull ups!
A little while later I thought I might be ill from all the excitement, but luckily enough, we came across a doctors offering a very reasonably priced 'medical evaluation' that I'm not sure our insurance will cover.
Away from the beach side, Abbott Kinney Street was the perfect relaxing mix of cool coffee shops and trendy independent clothes stores.
Next stop on the tour was Hollywood. Only fifteen miles away, but a good hours drive in LA traffic. We went via Beverly Hills to check out some super star houses and after some Sat Nav sweat, managed to park right behind the Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.
There was a film premiere getting set up outside, so red carpet and security were covering the famous handprints...
But we were still able to take an obligatory walk along the stars before dark...
